Pune is the second developed city in Maharashtra, Mumbai is first now. previously the city was also known as Poona obviously it was named by British raj till 1978.

GEOGRAPHY OF PUNE –
Describing Pune highlights it has become a most populous city because of the migration of people towards this city. According to the census of 2011, the population of Pune was around 4.5m. in 2021, it will surely cross 7M. this city has around 16000 sq km of area. it is situated southeast of Mumbai. it lies in the west of India, this is not a coastal city, but it is situated at the Sahyadri mountain range at a high altitude, so it is blessed with greenery and nature.
the city is full of hills. Pune has a mid-range temperature climate, it varies between 20 to 28 degrees Celsius, the typical summer is about 4 months from March to June. The monsoon is about June to October and remaining in winter. although that is not perfect, suddenly you can experience the change in atmosphere.
HISTORY OF PUNE-
The history of this region is so vast and very important in all Indian history because so many people from this region have given their share in making history and created a change in Indian culture. if we go in deep this blog will become so lengthy, so we can do it in another blog or in another part of this series. but we can discuss in a brief here, the earliest reference of Pune is shown 1100 years ago, in RASHTRAKUTA DYNASTY, then this city was called as Punya vishaya means the sacred news, after the rashtrakuta dynasty, then after in the era of Yadavas dynasty, it was known as punaka or punyapur.
Then in the era of Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Maratha dynasty, it was renamed as Pune, but in British raj the was referred to as Poona till 1978 which after renamed by gov. and kept it as Pune, Pune was ruled by many dynasties because of a strategic point of this place. also the richness of the natural treasures. the followed dynasties ruled over this city time by time…..

SHANIWAR WADA PALACE
Built by Peshawa empire in 1732. it was the capital seat of the Maratha empire until 1818. in the peak of the Maratha empire, Shaniwar Wada was the center of Indian politics,

The temple of Dagdusheth halwai is the place of worship of Lord Ganesha. However, it was named after the founder of this temple dagdusheth halwai who was a trader and businessman of sweet.

Lal Mahal is one of the most visited places in Pune nowadays, lal mahal means red palace. built by shahaji Raje Bhosle the father of Shivaji Raje Bhosle. established in 1632 AD. SHIVAJI MAHARAJ lived here in their childhood.

RAJIV GANDHI ZOOLOGICAL PARK-
