HOW TO REACH-
by road, it is about the distance of 15 mi. you can go by transport.

Sinhgad is one the most visited fortress in Pune after Raigad fort. we all know the story of Sinhgad and Tanaji malusare the general Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, a brave story that never can be happen again. singed fort was initially known as KONDHANA after the name of kondeshwar temple but after tanaji malusare was martyred in the battle of sinhgad , king Shivaji named it sinhgad which refers to fort of a lion.
Treaty of Purandar-
this fort had so much importance in Swarajya. in the famous Treaty of Purandar sinhgad had given by Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj to Mughals. and because of the importance of this fort has strategic location it must have in swarajya s territory. Shivaji Maharaj gave that mission to tanaji malusare , he successfully taken this fort from Mughals in the cost of his death. sinhgad is situated at 1312 m above sea level.
it has two entry gates called PUNE DARWAZA on the northeast side of the fort and KALYAN DARAVAZA on the southeast side of the fort. it was built around 1000 years ago. Rajaram tomb, kade lot, Hawa point, Pune Darwaza, Kalyan Darwaza, Amrutewshar temple, Tilak Bangalow, Tanaji samadhi these are some important places to visit on this fort.
RAJGAD FORT [ FORTS OF PUNE] –
HOW TO REACH-
The distance of the fort from city is about 60 km,
The distance is about 60 km from pune city to the direction of the southwest of Pune.
Rajgad which means ruling fort its a type of hill fort, This fort was the first capital of the Maratha Empire under the Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, then it switched to the Raigad fort.
It has a very important value in the sense of strategic location in the Sahyadri mountain range. and it is very difficult to siege or invade. that’s the reason it became the first capital of the Maratha empire the height of the fort is nearly 1376 meters. which makes it one of the highest forts in the world. shivaji maharaj son rajaram maharaj born here.
During the monsoon, it’s an attraction for tourists from all over India. it cant be possible to cover and see the whole fort in one single day.
LOHGAD FORT [ FORTS OF PUNE ]-
Distance from Pune railway: Lohagad fort is around 52 Km away from Pune railway station and we can reach there in 2 hrs.
Location: Lohagad near Lonavala, Pune
Entry fee: it’s free of cost
Timings: till 6 pm
this incredible architecture was built at 3400 feet altitude, Fort is about 52 Km away from main Pune city. This fort is listed as one of the tallest forts in the Sahyadri mountain range the pick of this fort is known as malavali.
Lohgad was captured and ruled by various dynasties like Satvahanas, Chalukyas, Rashtrakutas, Yadavas, Bahamanis, Nizams, Mughals, and Marathas.
This fort is taken by Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in 1648 AD. but in the treaty of purandar it was given to the Mughals. there are some caves in the area of this fort too. it’s a nice attraction for tourists in the monsoon season because the mist occurred all over the fort.
Distance from Pune railway: Fort is at a distance of 66 Km from Pune Railway station.
Location: Charhat Wadi, Pune
Entry fee: it’s free of cost
Timings: the transportation is not good so you have visited this fort between 10:00 Am and 6:00 Pm.
This fort is built at 1405 meters high altitude. However, the fort is surrounded by the Sahyadri mountain range. Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj started his empire by capturing this fort.
The fort was also called Prachanda Fort. Torna is one of the highest structures built in the range. you can see the Rajgad and Sinhgad forts from Torana fort. this is an attraction for those who love to trek and adventures.
SHIVNERI FORT [ FORTS OF PUNE ]-
Distance from Pune railway: Shivneri Fort is placed at a distance of 93 Km from Pune railway station.
Location: Junnar taluka, Maharashtra
Entry fee: 1 rupee for children.
5 rupees for adults.
Timings: you can see anytime where there are no time restrictions.
Shivneri Fort is not so old structure. it was built in the 17th century. This fort contains so many statues on the top. For instance, a temple of goddess shivai near the fort. shivneri fort is the birthplace of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Fortis prominent tourist attraction.
The name Shivaji was named after the goddess Shivai, the idol of the mother of Shivaji Maharaj.
